2009 Champions League Final Result - Eto'o and Messi Star in Barcelona's 2-0 Win over ManU
Barcelona won the 2008/09 Champions League title by 2-0 against Manchester United thanks to two lovely goals from Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi on Wednesday, 27th May, 2009 in front of 72,000 crowd at Stadio Olimpico, Rome - Italy.This was the double bonanza for Barcelona after claiming the Spanish Primera Liga title and the Copa del Rey earlier this year and now won the Europe's most prestigious football trophy under first-year coach Josep Guardiola.
Eto scored a goal early in the match and a brilliant header by Messi in the 2nd half sealed the victory for Barcelona who outperformed Manchester United in all department.
Defeat also stop English Premier League winner Manchester United 's unbeaten run of 25 matches in Champions League and unable to defend the title.
This match was the show between Soccer's two super stars Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and the Argentinean was the clear winner.
